Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille on Penalties to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the showdown between the Ligue 1 winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side fired twice late to take a shock lead. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, Goncalo Ramos snatched a vital leveler in the final moments to send the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a 4-1 penalty victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
